Henrick Drescher

Henrik Drescher Born in Copenhagen in 1955, Henrik Drescher and his family immigrated to the United States in 1967. After only a semester, he broke from his studies at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston to begin a career in illustration. He also traveled throughout the United States, Mexico, and Europe, keeping journals of notes and drawings that he later used as portfolios. Drescher’s editorial illustrations appear regularly in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Newsweek, Time, and Rolling Stone. He has also written and illustrated several books, including books for children. His books are held in the collections of the Library of Congress, the Museum of Modern Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Rijks Museum in Den Haag, Netherlands. He has received numerous other honors including two awards from the Society of Illustrators.
