Brian Dettmer
(b. 1974)
Brian Dettmer was born in Chicago in 1974. He studied at Columbia College, where he primarily focused on the use of language systems and codes through conceptually based paintings. In recent years, his work has been exhibited in several solo and group exhibitions across the United States. His works have been exhibited in several museums and art centers including the Hyde Parks Art Center, South Bend Regional Museum of Art, the Rockford Art Museum and the Illinois State Museums in Chicago and Springfield, IL. His work can also be found in the private collections of many local and national patrons. Dettmer currently resides and works in Atlanta, GA.
