Robert H. Blackburn

(1920-2003)

Robert Blackburn was an African-American artist born in Harlem, New York in 1920. He was an influential teacher, printmaker, and painter who was well known for his modern imagery, and for founding The Printmaking Workshop in New York, which taught a generation of artists printmaking techniques. He studied at the Art Students League of New York, and the Skowhegan School. He died in 2003.
