Michael Bergt was born in 1956 in a small Nebraska farming community and currently lives in New Mexico. He is a painter and sculptor who is well-known for his surreal and modern works as well as pictorals of the human physique. In 1978, Bergt spent time in San Francisco, where he painted and displayed his first major one-man show in 1980. Bergt has also shown with Paul Cadmus at the Midtown Gallery in New York City. In 2005, Michael was elected as a sculptor member of the National Sculpture Society (NSS). Bergt is an active artist, currently residing in Santa Fe.
