Minna Citron
(1896-1991)
Minna Citron was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1896. She was a painter and printmaker, well known for her abstraction, graphics, and murals. She studied and taught at the Art Students League in New York, Atelier 17, and the New York School of Art. She was a member of the American Federation of Arts, the National Association of Women Artists, Salons of America, the Society of Independent Artists, and the Federal Arts Project. Her works were exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Carnegie Institute, the Corcoran Gallery Biennial, the National Association of Women Artists, the National Academy of Design, the Pennsylvania Academy, Salons of America, the Smithsonian Institution, the Society of Independent Artists, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. She died in New York, NY in 1991.
